DOCTOR BETTY

Step by determined step, the curriculum vitae of Betty Eaton from the time when she leaves high school to train and is left by Hal who doesn't want a part-time wife. The work-up is so familiar from classes to clinics to internship and residency that it hardly bears repeating; but the referrals to ""beaus"" and ""orchids"" and ""dancing shoes,"" while indicating that Betty has a few recreational moments, also suggest that Miss Wells hasn't been keeping up with those younger readers she's been writing for through the years. With no distinction whatsoever.
