The adultery alleged to have taken place between Anne Preston and a rather settled middle-aged man, Mr. Amberley, now occasions the divorce action between the Amberley. The indiscretion is staunchly denied by Amberley, and Anne, beautiful and superbly self-possessed, but is supported by a diary, a letter and a picture. An exemplary exercise within the formal framework of a courtroom procedure and very pleasant to follow.
