The death of neurasthenic Lord Grayle from what seems to be a likely overdose of his sedation turns into a murder case for Inspector Poole of Scotland Yard when a second drug -- a fatal combination with the first- is found in his body. The known extravagances of Lady Grayle, the unknown alias and activities of her butler all lead to the proof positive of reasonable suspicions. Sober, but this is not to say staid.
