THREE SEEDS

Modern farming methods help change the lives of the Filipino family in this story for the better. They are the de la Cruz family and the tale is told through Luis, whose father has to spend most of his time away from home in the Manila Markets to earn enough money for them. But on one of his visits he brings cabbage seeds given to him by Americans. With the help of Old Tomas, Luis plants and cares for them until they become a symbol of the kind of farming Juan now decides to learn to do successfully. Slight and edifying, but with a certain feel of the land.
