PUZZLE-MATH

For those with reasoning and logical minds (and a goodly knowledge of mathematics is a help) this is a stimulating grab bag of puzzlers, couched in story form, using all types of material in their problems. Unfaithful wives, hanging dates, pennies, cards, birthdays, tennis, trains, daylight saving time, rationing, dominoes, building blocks, string, boats, planes and missiles are the means through which the distinction between frequency and phase, random sequences, mathematical and finite induction, the basic principles and techniques of restricted and independent probability, infinite series, statistical distribution, relative motion, space and time and even relativity are employed, complete, when necessary, with algebraic formula. For the sharp to keen and the trained intelligence this will offer some amiably presented posers.
