Another Steve Johnson story- as Steve, now a Captain, has the half promise of becoming head of homicide if he stays clear of all new cases. Almost in on the kill of the manager of a giveaway radio program, Steve tries to stay out of it, but with a second murder only he can shake the identification of the murderer. Nelson is grinding them out fast, and the reader- in this case- is not always on the receiving end.
