This is such an one, and at the same time, as Malinowski points out in his introduction, the book is an important contribution to the sociologist-anthropologist data. Africa is of increasing importance. Bechuanaland Protectorate is under Great Britain, and this is a book about the Kgatla tribe, -- a study of family life and how the traditions have been affected by Western civilization, how and why the natives marry, their post marital relationship, sexual life, procreation, and the function of the family as a unit. An interesting record of a primitive civilization, emerging out of its ancient backgrounds. Important in the field.
