THE PERSECUTOR

A double murder, a betrayal, and the conviction of an innocent man turns ""Pepsi Pete"" Heysen into the persecutor of Quigley, sensualist, pervert and one time witness for the prosecution. But as Quigley balks, Heysen finds other suspects: Pilgrim, a beach hermit, Othello, a poet/wanderer and even his fellow conspirator Karen, sister of the condemned man. It's bluff and double bluff with a touch of unnamed horror as Pete, who has the resilience of a rubber band, snaps back after each beating and continues to press his own personal third-degree. As speedy as Alka Seltzer with a final surprise kick.
