Lisa Penhold's summer between high school and college initiated her both into the world of responsibility and romance. Her first job at a California lake resort, as a chambermaid, seemed easy enough until she became obsessed by the two attractive riding masters and allowed her duties to suffer. Taking hold in time, Lisa organizes herself, devotes herself to meticulous work and by ordering her life is able to distinguish between love and infatuation. Despite a somewhat fragmentary theme, this book will be read with pleasure by teen-age girls who will find in Lisa Penhold a character with whom they can wholly identify, and in the environment in which she is placed, an arena for their wish fulfillment.
