BILL WALTON: Super Center

Brill Walton's celebrity is no longer confined to the sports pages, but here his ""controversial"" life style and peripheral involvement in the Patty Hearst case become just another tag for a routine career bio. in any case the angle is none too flattering: Stambler seems to go along with Coach Wooden's opinion that Walton is ""no leader,"" just a victim of whoever talks to him last. Stambler ends lamely, with Walton looking forward to the '76-'76 season, and will leave his readers sadly deflated by the interpretation, true or not, that Walton is just another dumb jock. Boring.
