LEGION OF DISHONOR

A cheap piece of fustian, written by a movie bit actor. Cheap in its attempt at virility; coarse mouthed; cheap in its easy sentimentality and bang-bang patriotism. A story of the last world war, of a group of deserters and renegades living in a chateau in the middle of No Man's Land, and of an American volunteer among the motley throng, from German and French high officials down to peasant, ruffian, chaplain and doctor. Into this hideaway comes a beautiful nurse -- and much love. And at the close, national lines and patriotism are sharply drawn, with each man out to save his own country. Overwritten and sensational.
