by Ivan T. Sanderson ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 13, 1939
The author of the delightful Animal Treasure continues his explorations, this time in Trinidad, Halti, Dutch Guiana, in search of zoological specimens, and gives a thoroughly pleasant account of his travels. Jungles and waterways and caves claim his concentrated attention, while his finds -- nightmare, comic, beautiful or appealing -- catch the reader-interest through his delight in them. A dignified Rolls-Royce, an obstinate boat, a helpful but independent wife, a new found companion and various local helpers constitute the picture and the rest of the cast of characters are all from the animal kingdom, making their first appearance outside technical tomes. Adventures, misadventures, complete enjoyment of his surroundings, make this good to read, and the author's illustrations add to the charm of the book.
