ENCHANTED SAND

Up against nature in the raw, from another angle - New Mexico and old. And unlike any other ""travel book"" of that region I have ever come across. A very personal narrative of the experiences of a young Englishman seeking health, and of his wife. Blessed with no funds other than barely enough to get them over and back, they took various and sundry jobs, lived among Mexican ranch hands and Indian traders, and saw them, stripped of glamour, but in very human guise. Intensely sympathetic and understanding, enjoying the fun of life, and meeting the obstacles with good humor, keenly appreciative of the stupendous glories of our Southwest's natural beauties, they have presented a picture which will fascinate readers who hope some day to explore that country for themselves, as well as those who know it already.
