by J. Raymond Walsh ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 8, 1937
Once again a book on labor relations that has a distinct bias. Perhaps it will be impossible to have one that does not take one side or the other. The author, in this case, comes to the defense of C.I.O. -- its policy, its aims, its methods. He gives the background leading up to the formation, and traces its history in meticulous detail during its 20 months of life. He shows reasons for its rapid growth and success in some fields, its failures in others. This is no exception to the rule that pro-labor books are unpleasant reading for pro-capital, but for anyone wanting an intimate picture of the workings, this is a good book.
