ASPECTS OF BELIEF

The Noble lectures are eagerly awaited by students, theologians and laymen for they seldom fail to strike the same high note no matter from what scientific angle the approach is made. Canon Bezzant has chosen the modern problems of Christianity at the same time showing how fundamental they are. There is the fine simplicity of the Englishman in treating the most complex problems -- his faculty for bringing order out of chaos and coordinating effort be it mental or physical that so often leaves us whirling in a state of mad confusion. The book clearly defines the Christian life, the fact of God, His love and forgiveness, Christ's claims upon our lives and our responsibility for the social gospel. This book would hold its own on any Lenten list but this year with such poor pickings it finds itself absolutely unchallenged for first place and top sales.
