More hyperbolic one-liners and anecdotes in yock-a-minute adventures of the Douglas clan--Jack, doll-wife Reiko and the two boys. This time the family exposes its collective flank to Yankee wiles when the Douglases buy a crumbling hotel in the state of Maine. The natives quickly move in for the kill. Among the wolves in Bean's clothing: a ""just plain folks"" multimillionaire whose tax-and-title manipulations are faster than the eye can follow, the jolly fat milkman who retaliates by ripping out the milk dispenser, a series of maids who meticulously ram oddments down the strangling toilets, Filthy Phil the garbageman (by appointment, at $1.00 a barrel), and a parade of sadistic inspectors. Douglas fights back with pitiful results, in spite of a successful ""monster"" scare. But since the economic stability of the area depends on the profitable sale and re-sale of the hotel, it's a lost cause. Rather forced hilarity but it may answer the death wishes of summer people and down-Easters alike.
