Of particular interest to natives of Ohio, this collection of short biographical sketches grows out of a project in which Ohio honored the name of many of its natives who had achieved recognition before they had reached the age of twenty. In this gallery of celebrities are to be found, among many, Edward Rickenbacker, William Dean Howells, Alice and Phoebe Cary, Edison, the Wright Brothers, Annie Oakley, the Mills Brothers, Roy Rogers, the Gish Sisters, Ted Lewis. Although the profiles are in themselves extremely brief, they do cover encyclopedically the subjects' entire range of accomplishments, stressing their early contributions, and are rather effective in illustrating the fact that the word adolescence need not be linked with crime.
