This is the second collection in the Wisdom series of televised conversations with distinguished men and women whose influence has been felt in the arts, the sciences and public affairs. Some of the people interviewed here include: Somerset Maugham, Edith Hamilton, Robert Moses, Margaret Mead, Earl Clement Attlee, David Low, Karl Menninger, Van Wyck Brooks, John La Farge, Eleanor Roosevelt, Norman Thomas. They discuss their attitudes toward various aspects of life, their approaches to their work, that part of their time which has now become history, and the events and great minds that influenced their own careers. The questioning is economical and direct and proves illuminating. But it is apparent that because of the brevity of the interviews they would prove to be of more interest and would have greater depth on the television screen than on the printed page.
