by Jane White ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 10, 1976
During the night of the comet (star of Bethlehem?) a young couple take refuge in the house of four elderly, impotent survivors on the New Earth and a child is born, to be salvaged at all costs in a world of darkness, cold and repression. This according to its father who finally disappears for good while the others undertake the bleak, brutal itinerary across the primordial future's landscape. Jane White has always been an effective writer (is this her first s-f safari?) and you can paraphrase her story at will without forfeiting its insistence.
