Could anyone want to know exactly what a myriad of professional sports people eat for each and every meal? Well, here it is: what athletes in ten sports from baseball and football to boxing and running consume for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks--on the questionable premise that ""a large number of superstars and super advisors advocate intelligent alternative nutrtional concepts that can be adjusted according to each of our lifestyles and needs."" The ""solid conclusions"" Michael extrapolates: eat balanced meals, fresh foods, carbohydrates, fiber, and very little animal protein; adjust mealtimes according to schedule; drink water as a refresher; vitamin/mineral supplements probably aren't necessary; and ""if it works and you feel well, stick with it."" These may sound obvious, ""but how many of us really stick with it?"" Well: Terry Bradshaw eats nothing after five o'clock on Saturday night, but Sunday he eats a big pizza; Wayne Gretsky eats massive amounts for all meals and sleeps all afternoon; Muhammed Ali has green salad with tunafish for lunch--and has a weakness for desserts; George Brett attributes his love of fish to being raised in California. And so on, and on.
