VENTURE AT LAKE TAHOGAN

When Grant and Constance Wetherell, 18 and 15 respectively, find that their mother has bought a small resort lodge in out of the way Appleton, Washington, they are dismayed at the thought of going off to nowhere but nevertheless determined to make a go of the new venture. On the way there they run into Hogie, an Indian boy who becomes their friend, and Russ Mallert, a smart- aleck who becomes their enemy. Russ tries to throw a scare into them by saying the lake water will rise when a new dam is built. Then he stakes a mining claim that proves damaging to their property as well as crooked. But a forest fire, during which Grant selflessly rescues Russ, proves to be Russ's downfall and the Wetherells can look to a happy future. Pallid.
