WHAT MARY JO WANTED

Mary Jo wanted a puppy, got a puppy, and couldn't get to sleep: the puppy cried at night because he was confined in the kitchen. So Mary Jo moved in a cot to keep him company until he was housebroken. Which he never is as far as the story goes--a little by-play about a kitchen elf serves in lieu of a conclusion. Attractive realistic illustrations, dubious dog training.
