More than ten years after his death, the works in stone and wood, as well as the sketches of Enrico Glicenstein, are being reinvestigated. And in their rediscovery the contemporary scene of graphic art is being considerably enriched. Born into a world similar to Chagall's, Glicenstein imbues his works with the intensity and fervor of a prophet. Never seduced by fashionable schools of art, Glicenstein's work is representational, and manifests a unique sense of the materials with which he worked. Spiritually and visually gratifying is this retrospective collection of thirty-seven sculptures and nineteen drawings which includes a complete bibliography as well as a helpful critical and biographical text by Jean Cassou, Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
