HENRY, THE HAND-PAINTED MOUSE

Although the style is often a bit arch and self-consciously uninhibited, this is a tantalizing story with an amusing twist about a wistful and sensitive mouse and his artist friend. The mouse, called Henry The 8th, because he lived on the eighth floor of a tall building, was depressed and because he was lonely and none of the interesting people in the lofts below him paid any attention to his hopeful visitations. But when an artist who creates hand-painted ties comes to live with Henry and accidently paints Henry in the process, Henry's life and philosophy undergo a happy change.
