THE LITTLE SILVER HOUSE

A sequel to The Golden Name Day, this story takes Nancy Bruce through a fall and winter at the home of her Swedish-American grandparents. Intrigued by a boarded up house, all Nancy's thoughts center about it. And just as it seems that she will be separated from her cousin, whom she loves, and from the happy atmosphere of the community, it is decided that Nancy's family will buy the house insuring a long and pleasant association with her kin. A simple story made rich with vivid detail of Swedish customs--foods, a Scandinavian observance of Christmas --Jennie Lindquist's talent at portraying a warm, old-fashioned atmosphere with delicacy.
