A Danish story with pictures by Arne Ungermann- lots of pictures, in flat color and thin line, but with more text than the picture story book classification indicates. Lots of small children take their first independence seriously enough to think briefly- what fun it would be to have their small world to themselves, with no prohibitions. This story tells what happened to Nila- and little he liked it- and how glad to wake up, in spite of all the exciting adventures. After all, companions, even grown-ups, have their values.
