Rosalie is an old, old dog of 16. Cindy, who spends a lot to time with her, is less than half that age. Rosalie obviously has a good life, tagging after Cindy and her friends, sleeping while they play, snoozing on the front porch or being picked up into Cindy's dad's lap while they watch TV. She is well loved; vet visits are sometimes in order. That's about all that. happens in this tale; since the inevitable end does not come, the story lacks conflict, and all this unremitting mutual love may prove soporific. Illustrations are charming and colorful. Cindy's family has an endearing resemblance, and their life looks pretty good, too.
