JOE BOB GOES TO THE DRIVE-IN

Briggs, drive-in movie critic, is perhaps America's premier arbiter of bad taste, his hilarious, off-color and off-the-wall Prim column syndicated by UPI (although he's now banned from his original mouthpiece, the Dallas Times-Herald). Collected here are four year's worth of Briggs' down-and-dirty, good ole' boy columns, praising or damning drive-in classics like The Beastmaster, Revenge of the Ninja, and The Evil Dead. Readers able to stomach Briggs' redneck style (""Okay, let's talk nitty: Twelve breasts. Some kung fu. One-half pint blood. No motor vehicle chases. One beast: the punkola gang leader, one of those guys with muscles that look like horseshoes are growing on the outside of his body. . ."") will find here some of the more trenchant film--and social--criticism available. (A gonzo introduction from Stephen King precedes the columns.)
