Sea slugs, coral, bristle worms, moray eels, lion fish, and a host of other ocean oddities are introduced by a noted underwater photographer. Fine's full-color photos on every page are outstanding; but the text, which he says explains ""how and why the [sea creatures] behave the way they do, to fit into their underwater environment"" often doesn't. He notes, for instance, that ""the boxfish's hard body and small fins give it an odd appearance,"" though nowhere does he indicate how this is a useful adaptation. Creatures are presented in no apparent order; scientific names are not given; and there is little information here on size or range. Attractive for browsing, however. Index not seen.
