by John Galsworthy ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 17, 1933
The last novel completed before his death, and the final volume in the group which includes FLOWERING WILDERNESS and MAID IN WAITING. Claire, Dinny's sister, is the central character, and her estrangement from her husband and the divorce suit he brings against her form the theme of the story. Characters from the previous books cross and recross the pages, although the story itself is independent of the other volumes. Not a particularly stirring plot, but there is always a certain satisfaction in reading a Galsworthy novel, which we shall sadly miss, like meeting again old friends in pleasant places.
