BONEGRINDER

Straight-talkin', tough-walkin' Sheriff Billy Wintone has a peck of trouble over in sleepy o1' Colver. There's that mountainous creature called ""Bonegrinder"" supposedly crawling out of Big Water Lake, mauling and crushing tourists and locals alike. And everybody--from mayor to village idiot to Craig Holt of the US Govt. Phenomena Study Group--keeps telling him how to do his job. And how about those memories of the wife he drunk-drove to the morgue? But Billy pulls himself together, knocks a few heads, and shrewdly separates superstition from wild life from premeditated murder. And Lutz (last year's Buyer Beware) pulls together a neat, muscular Ozark milieu-mystery out of the tried and the could-be-true.
