THREE MEN ON THIRD

A beanbag full of baseball anecdotes and oddities, this is a sequel to the earlier, The latter book restricted its territory to pre-World War I material. The present volume covers just about all of baseball history. There are more of the odd doings of the Dodgers--several sidelights on Dizzy Dean, both as pitcher and as TV announcer nonpareli -- many stories of the diamond's strange superstitions and customs--and sometimes, customers. The bleacher faithful should lap this one up.
