This latest from Tunis' able pen has as hero, Roy Tucker, of The Kid from Tem and World Series. Roy has been playing his part in the serious business of war, and returns to face the conquest of the results of a serious back injury in a crash in Occupied France. The comeback is a tough proposition, but Roy conquers fear and wins a game besides. Sound sports writing- and Dodgers fans are a sure market, but the book hasn't quite the challenge of- for instance- A City for Lincoln. But a competent job, and good baseball, as one has learned to expect from John Tunis.
