by John Robben ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 1, 1973
John Robben, a salesman by profession, wrote this on the train while commuting from Connecticut after a confrontation with incipient middle age. Finding his soul had become his ""principal vocation in life"" which is why, one supposes, he felt he had to do it. In quasi-diary form Robben hits all the usual whistle stops: his marriage, libido, fidelity, (Catholic) church-going, responsibilities, self-confidence, boredom (you don't have to ""go away"" to change your life). ""What we need -- what I see I need -- is new roadmaps, both into ourselves and between one another."" A tedious and sententious ego trip, going nowhere in particular.
