THE DIEHARD

After a murder-in-the-bathtub opener which bleaches the shower scene in Psycho, the victim turns out to be the visually lush wife of a lawyer in a firm up to its neck in fraud. This is a nonstop case where it's hard to determine whose nose is clean or keep your own head clear. There's a second killing of the mercenary go-between, and in addition to Fidelity Funding's missing twenty million, another seven-figure is entailed. A fast run for all that money, enviably assured and whipsaw sharp.
