Primer fact book and a good one, introducing a global concept which even first and second graders can grasp. Skilful relation of basic ideas of gravity, of the earth as a globe, of the sun and night and day and heat and cold; of land and water, of growing and living things, of towns and cities, plains and forests, of people, and ways of life, of transportation, communication -- linking all with known and familiar things, makes this the most successful venture of its kind that I have seen. Esther Friend's gay pictures throughout make it attractive and appealing.
