Juliet Rugg, with frizzy red hair, who turns the scale at 16 stone, is a lot of lady to vanish- but she does. While Chief Inspector Wilfred Dover (Dover's first case- i.e. Dover One. with more to follow) strews ""Strewths"" and his assistant MacGregor huffs and puffs, they make the rounds of the elderly widower she worked for and slept with, the young man who was the putative father of her son, a Russian drug addict, and others, to a rather grizzly finale... A perhaps parochial type of humor which derives from the flicks-- a show of teeth without much bite.
