by Judith Viorst ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 30, 1990
Not so much a story as an extended harangue, this not-so-exaggerated monologue by a little girl whose parents say she's too young to have her ears pierced is either mildly funny or all-too-familiar, depending on the reader's point of view. Malone's illustrations nicely capture the child's narrow range of moods, from importunate to persistent.
