BRIMHALL COMES TO STAY

Bear's excitement over cousin Brimhall's visit turns to dismay when Brimhall fills the house with plants and mothballs and saws off the legs of the kitchen table. At last Bear puts his foot down and removes the plants and mothballs, but softens toward his cousin when Brimhall accepts the changes with good humor. Readers know, however, that Brimhall is already eyeing Bear's walls and possessions as work surfaces for his new hobby, painting. The takeover guest is a longstanding figure of fun, but Delton doesn't give this one any catchy eccentricities.
