TIM AND THE PURPLE WHISTLE

A simple story of new found courage is set in Connecticut in 1790 and relates the adventures of small Tim Allen, his dog Bigsy, and Josh Walker, the peddler. When Mr. Walker stops by the Allens' with his cart he is in need of a new helper and though Tim is dying to go with him, he's a boy who is afraid of almost everything he can't see. How Tim finally goes with Bigsy and with a whistle for a good luck piece and how the three of them discover that another peddler is trying to cheat Mr. Walker, makes steadying young excitement.
