by Juliet Lowell ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 1, 1968
Bottled cheer, generally sedative, is this collection of purportedly really true letters to physicians from added patients. An old hand at the game of collecting letters of Congressmen, celebrities, etc. Miss Lowell is not one to quit with the winnings--after all, there is a continuing market for the instant boff. Some of these notes glance off the subconscious (""I feel much better since you drilled me yesterday"") and raise a smile: others have the air of being treated professionally (""Don't like your medicine. I took it and went into a kimona."") but this may soothe waiting room qualms, taken in small doses.
