GROWING UP

A new edition of the first children's introduction to the facts of adult life which has sold more than 330,000 copies since it first appeared twenty five years ago. There are new illustrations, both charts and photographs, and the text has been rewritten but retains its calm dignity. A brief presentation of physical maturation, conception and reproduction at a young level (pre-teen) but one questions whether the Levine & Seligmann A Baby is Born (Simon & Schuster) may not meet this younger audience on more modern, and less sentimental, terms.
