If quantity will sell this account of family life, the Gilbreth's 12 children will do it, together with their father who practises his belief in efficiency and saving waste motion and effort. Full credit to the absence of cute, coy, dripping nostaliga, to thoroughly human kids, to the logical if not always lucky ideas Dad develops bringing up his brood. Regimentation was the answer, and production line care, government by Family Council. There are interludes in California, domestic doings in Montclair. There's fun and sentiment, appreciation and appraisal, and a good time is had by all.
