Limping doggerel describing a series of dreams accompanies mannered visual interpretations typical of the artist's work. The dreamers are teddy bears; the advice offered, ""When it seems you cannot fall asleep/ And your playing's not quite done;/ Do like these sleepy little bears,/ And dream yourself some fun."" Sample dreams range from Wynken, Blynken and Nod reruns to such modern notions as riding a triceratops. The illustrations are lush and coy, with a nostalgic air induced by the use of the yellow-brown tones of aged paper. Even Pan's landscape, lovely at first glance, proves on closer examination to have a ""moon"" that looks, and illumines, like the sun. For Hague devotees only.
