This is show business all the way -- with vaudeville until its death, starting and stopping on the air waves, early and late in TV, and, with his Blackouts in Los Angeles, keeping on stage for years. His fascination for animals led to the production of a color film, still playing, Bill and Coo, in which birds and animals --no humans -- starred; his stories of Mom and Pop have an unexpected twist when they turn out to be his grandparents- and he is never sure that the woman who claimed to be his mother really was; he fills in his pages with anecdotes of famous friends. This is expansive, good humored-if superficial- reporting from the entertainment world.
