by Langston Hughes ‧ RELEASE DATE: June 18, 1934
Through the medium of short stories of the negro in conflict with the white, Langston Hughes has drawn a picture which is not flattering to the whites. Beware sale in the South. Some of the stories are pathetic -- many ironic -- a few very dramatic. Uneven in quality. The best are Slave on the Block, Poor Little Black Fellow, Core Unashamed. Some of the stories appeared in Esquire -- and elsewhere. For the public interested in the negro problem.
