The Forgetful Bear family returns in this third volume in a series. The Forgetful Bears know they should be getting ready to go somewhere, but they can't remember the important details, such as where they're going, or where they've put their tickets. Mr. Memory, an elephant who specializes in helping people remember, arrives in time to help. But when even he can't help the Forgetful Bears, the old elephant begins to weep. As they comfort him with tea and cookies, the bears find the missing tickets in the cookie tin, Mr. Memory delivers them to the airport on time, and the family has a wonderful vacation in Hawaii--which they never forget. There's some humor here, as when the family is following Mr. Memory's instructions to put vacuum cleaner hoses on their noses and picture themselves elephants, but the story never gets off the ground. Degen's characteristic cheerful illustrations add a little verve but not enough. Fun, but forgettable.
