The reissue of this beautiful book by Laura Armer will be welcomed by those who have missed it- and introduce a gifted writer-artist to others. Personally, I did not like-the book as well as Waterless Mountain, a quite extraordinary story of the Navaho Indians; but its rich coloring, its fool of modern Mexican art, makes it a feast for the eye. The story is built around two Mexican children and their search for an iguana in the deep forest. The data on flora and fauna, and, to some extent, on native life, is sound enough but rather artificially introduced.
