THE LITTLE BOOK ABOUT GOD

Here's a book that is being talked about in advance, but which, if unheralded, would, I feel, be frowned upon by most juvenile department experts. It purports to be first steps in the Bible for very little children. In my opinion it is a good example of how not to tell small children about religion. The text seems forced and unnatural, rather silly in fact. The casual all over the place pictures may appeal to small children, though their very minuteness of detail, in some instances, may be against them. The author-artist has won sufficient reputation in her own field so that this book will be asked for, and there may be, to those enthusiastic about her work, a first edition value in the limited firsts, containing a small original painting, signed by Lauren Ford.
