Another Story Parade book, with a more original text, in a story of a pet crow, and of the accident which was responsible in large part for Jeff's winning the first prize for his strange pet. Jeff's little sister had embarrassed him by making a necklace of tin cane and cereal cartons, and Jeff didn't want to disappoint her so -- when Blackie's own necklace was lost -- he agreed to wear the other one. And the rattling noise it made helped Blackie do just what he should do on each trial.Kurt Wiese's decorative drawings are charming -- the book has a nice jacket -- but the inside pictures with human figures leave much to be desired.
